Ice creams have been sold from a kiosk on Queens Drive, on Exmouth seafront, for 60 years. So there was shock and sadness when the storms in February destroyed the wooden kiosk. But a replacement has been quickly built after receiving planning permission and is now back in business in time for the summer.

What’s on: Easter Sunday duck race at Exmouth Fun Park

3pm, Easter Sunday sees the return of the Annual Exmouth Duck race that will see 1,000 ducks released in the pond at Exmouth Fun Park.
Last year could have been the last year of the event as it was run by Exmouth Lions club which ceased recently.  However, it was kindly handed over to 299 Exmouth Air Cadets who have helped run the event for many years.
Chair of the 299 Exmouth SQN committee Daniel Smith said “It has been a great honour to be given charge of this annual town event which we hope will continue and grow in the future.”
The event will see the release of 1,000 ducks on the boat lake at Exmouth Fun Park with the winning duck’s owner receiving a cash prize.  There will also be runner-up prizes. To be in with a chance of winning however, you must first purchase your duck’s number.
Tickets cost just £1 from local shops (watch for the posters) or from The Business Hub, 47a The Parade, Exmouth, Devon, EX8 1RD.
Tickets will also be on sale on Saturdays in the Magnolia shopping centre and can also be purchased on the day.  Get your ticket for a duck soon, for a chance to win.  Money raised will be used for Exmouth Youth Activities.

Anyone planning a night out in Exmouth on New Year’s Eve can look forward to fireworks in the town centre at midnight.

The town council decided to end the traditional seafront display after health and safety concerns. But it has organised fireworks to go off at midnight in the town centre to see in the new year.

Exmouth has become a traditional destination for revellers in fancy dress on New Year’s Eve.
