Unanimously acclaimed by the critics as one of Stephen Sondheim’s most powerful scores, this black comedy concerns the infamous homicidal career of Sweeney, the unjustly exiled barber who returns to 19th century London seeking revenge against the lecherous judge who coveted his young wife and falsely imprisoned him. Cheated of his revenge against the Judge, Sweeney’s thirst for blood soon expands to include his unfortunate customers, and, with the aid of his razor, he exacts a far more terrible revenge, cheerfully helped by Mrs. Lovett, who is delighted to give new life to her flavourless meat pies! Sophisticated, macabre, visceral and uncompromising, Sweeney Todd mixes intense drama with dark humour, audiences find themselves laughing one moment, and gasping in surprise at the next…. At the show’s core is a challenging score of epic proportion with two tasty tour de force roles in Sweeney and his comic female accomplice Mrs. Lovett.

3pm, Easter Sunday sees the return of the Annual Exmouth Duck race that will see 1,000 ducks released in the pond at Exmouth Fun Park.
Last year could have been the last year of the event as it was run by Exmouth Lions club which ceased recently.  However, it was kindly handed over to 299 Exmouth Air Cadets who have helped run the event for many years.
Chair of the 299 Exmouth SQN committee Daniel Smith said “It has been a great honour to be given charge of this annual town event which we hope will continue and grow in the future.”
The event will see the release of 1,000 ducks on the boat lake at Exmouth Fun Park with the winning duck’s owner receiving a cash prize.  There will also be runner-up prizes. To be in with a chance of winning however, you must first purchase your duck’s number.
Tickets cost just £1 from local shops (watch for the posters) or from The Business Hub, 47a The Parade, Exmouth, Devon, EX8 1RD.
Tickets will also be on sale on Saturdays in the Magnolia shopping centre and can also be purchased on the day.  Get your ticket for a duck soon, for a chance to win.  Money raised will be used for Exmouth Youth Activities.
