The new Premier Inn being built at Exmouth is using the address of the hall that was demolished to make way for it.
Protesters campaigned unsuccessfully to save the Elizabeth Hall on the Esplanade.
The Victorian building used by community groups was demolished to make way for the three-storey 60-bed hotel which is due to open next year.
The Premier Inn website already features the new hotel, which includes a restaurant, and gives its address as Elizabeth Hall, The Esplanade, Exmouth.
The district council said the hotel plan offered the best use of the site with new jobs and investment to support redevelopment of the seafront.
